Project Description

The overall project intent was to convert a recently vacated Motorola Distribution Office to serve as a medical clinic which consists of pulmonary care, internal medicine, and cosmetics. Since this was a design-build project delivery, we provided design and construction administration services with the general contractor. The space consisted of 11 exam rooms, procedure room, cosmetic treatment room, injection room, draw lab, administrative area, physician’s offices, MA/nurse workstations, and reception waiting for each tenant.

Scope of Work

Our project scope was to provide schematic design of the program required, design development, and construction documents services to obtain permit from the village.  Included as part of the overall scope was conducting a thorough ADA assessment to confirm areas in need of upgrade and providing design solutions to satisfy the current Indiana Accessibility Code. Due to the site not being zoned for medical use, coordination with the City of Munster Planning Committee need to be conducted to rezone the property for eligibility for medical use. Therefore, additional site work to account for more parking was included in the scope.
