Project Description
East Peoria Campus: The scope consisted of re-surfacing the existing asphalt for Truck Driver Training Area, new site lighting and retrofitting of existing site lighting, and a design of a 14’ x 30’ storage shelter. Although a simple storage shelter, Illinois Central College emphasized the importance of aesthetics for the storage in which a covered huddle area was provided under the cantilevering wood roof.
Pekin Campus: A new 40’ x 60’ x 16’ pre-engineered metal building to serve as a EMT vehicle storage along with a exterior corridor link with a canopy cover was designed as an addition to the existing Pekin Facility. The new addition was designed to have heating only to keep the vehicles from freezing during winter break when campus is inactive. New paved access drive from Hannah Drive to the new addition was also provided in the design scope. A new detention area with associated drainage structure was provided to the east of the campus site. Similar to East Peoria, there was a major emphasis on the aesthetic of the vehicle storage as that was to set the influence of the existing Pekin campus building façade replacement, which was also completed by HOH in a separate design contract.
