Project Description

Phase II Contract plans, special provisions and quantities were prepared for the structure, and roadway improvements of Meridian Road over US 20, a four‐lane divided limited access highway. The existing vertical profile on Meridian Road was raised to increase clearance at the bridge to 16’‐5”. The length of improvement along Meridian Road is 600 feet.

Scope of Work 

The work included roadway plans, horizontal and vertical control sheets, highway drainage design erosion control plans, grading plans, typical sections, and traffic staging plans. Design of a type, size and location drawing, landscaping plans (drafting only), pavement marking plans, cross sections and all other work required to complete the project in accordance with the Project Report. In addition, a Traffic Management Analysis was required for MOT. All plan sheets are based on an approved Phase I Report provided by District Two, and developed in MicroStation V8 and GEOPAK Structural design consisted of preparation of a TS&L, SGR and Bridge Replacement Plans including temporary sheet pile walls at foundation excavation. Applicable Special Provisions were prepared to supplement the IDOT Standard. An evaluation of the substructure for adequacy of additional weight was made.
