Project Description
HOH provided Contract plans, special provisions and estimate for the structure, interchange and roadway improvements of IL 43(Harlem Avenue) over US 12/20 (95th Street). The Construction cost estimate is approximately $41,000,000.
Scope of Work
HOH was responsible for all civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and controls design, prepared the installation
drawings.
The existing tight cloverleaf interchange is reconfigured to a partial cloverleaf interchange.
The existing pavement of US 12/20 (95th Street) is widened to accommodate a third thru lane of traffic in the westbound direction. West of the interchange area on 95th Street, a new auxiliary bypass lane 18 feet wide is added to the north side of 95th Street.
The existing vertical profile on 95th Street lowered approximately one foot at IL 43.
Two new traffic signals are added to IL 43 (Harlem Ave.) for new ramps and the existing traffic signal on US 12/20 requires the relocation of several traffic signal poles, as well as pavement reconstruction and new roadway lighting.
The approximate length of improvements along IL 43 is 3,600 feet and along US 12/20 is 3,500 feet.
Contract documents include roadway plans, drainage design, stormwater collection, conveyance and detention, new pump station, traffic staging plans, field survey, type, size and location drawings (2), structural repair plans, traffic signals, lighting plans, traffic signaling plans, supplemental survey and all other work required to complete the project in accordance with the Project Report.
