Project Description
HOH provided planning, design and construction inspection services for this Site Development/Maintenance Facility Expansion Project. The project consisted of site development and construction of an 88,000 Sq Ft maintenance building, PCC parking lot, staging area, utility services, drainage, lighting, remote controlled sliding access gates, and detention facilities. It also included coordination to produce a topographical survey and for the site, and soil borings and geotechnical investigations. For the planning phase, HOH developed and presented 3 alternative solutions and accompanying cost estimates. The alternatives were developed to a sufficient level to understand the site grading, drainage, and permit issues associated with each alternative—also an AUTOTURN Analysis of Snow Removal Equipment (22 vehicle types) was performed for layout of the building. $20 million construction value.
Scope of Work
HOH provided coordination and secured permits with the following agencies necessary to comply with applicable code and permit requirements: City of Chicago Department of Water Management, OUC, and the DOA.
HOH prepared coordinated construction documents and technical specifications for site plans, including the following: new 385’ x 230’ maintenance building, utility services (including gas, electric, sewer, water, and data), concrete parking lot, staging area, driveway, ADA/sidewalks, ditching, site grading plan, and detention pond.
ADA access, entrance security gate, bollards, erosion control for the grading of the site, site lighting of the parking lot and driveway.
An Excavation Plan was prepared indicating limits for removal of existing debris and timber ranging up to 25’ in depth from FG.
