Project Description
The AB Silicones major equipment consists of eleven (11) operational reactors along with pumps and other equipment for each reactor ranging from ten (10) gallon through nine thousand (9,000) gallons in size. AB Silicones has twenty (20) storage tanks of various sizes for raw material, reactor feed, and/or finished chemicals. The building that housed the process equipment (South Building) will be recreated in the 3D Model to the exact same dimensions but be considered a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) with an interior customized steel mezzanine(s) structure for access to reactors and other equipment top-side. The process and plant utilities consists of: (1) two closed loop air-cooled water tower system fed to the reactors, (2) one nitrogen tank and vaporizer unit in the parking lot that will be 3D modeled in as a “black box” line from outside the production area (3) eleven electrical hot oil skid systems for the reactors (and some storage and feed tanks), (4) six vacuum pumps with interconnects to three different systems and (5) instrument air for process valves, probes and other equipment. Building utilities such as electrical feeds, general lighting, sprinkler system, HVAC, low voltage DCS control systems are not included in the modeling effort.
Scope of Work
HOH provided the following services focusing on the development of the As-Built 3D Model:
Project Management:
Contact interface between HOH and AB Silicones.
Coordinate all HOH activities.
Receive and transmit all project documents.
Prepare and maintain an Engineering Schedule
Process and Mechanical Engineering:
Compile existing equipment & piping specifications along with all available equipment drawings and design information with Owner’s assistance.
Review owner’s P&ID’s or PFD’s for completeness and correctness. Make suggestions when necessary via redlined updates to Visio depictions.
With Owner’s assistance, prepared and maintained a Process and Utilities Equipment List.
Develop a 3-D ACAD Model for all process and utility equipment, and piping within the North & South Building complete with structural steel supports, pipe racks and platforms.
Structural Engineering:
Create a preliminary 2D structural mezzanine plan drawing for the South Building process and utility equipment based off the Owners general arrangement drawings.
Perform a preliminary layout design of the process support structures and associated platforming, stairways, and railings in the 3D Model.
Use ACAD RISA 3D to create a list of structural steel associated with the original South building design for Owners estimating purposes.
