HOH Divisions

The total project demands a vast array of disciplines — and at HOH we offer this breadth of capability. We are five distinct divisions, each with the efficiencies of compact size yet with doors that are always open to the other — the invitation to tap into the synergy that is the HOH family.

History of the HOH Divisions

In January of 1959, Harry O. Hefter, a registered Professional and Structural Engineer, started what is today The HOH Group, Inc., (of Engineers, Architects and Construction Managers). His previous positions as Chief Engineer helped catapult HOH to be recognized by the National Society of Professional Engineers, (NSPE), in their selecting an HOH project, on four occasions, as “One of the Ten Outstanding Engineering Achievements in the United States”.

The HOH Group, Inc. is a multi-service firm comprising four distinct companies, each with the efficiencies of compact size, yet with doors that are always open to each other – the invitation to tap into the synergy that is the HOH family.

Engineering for Life Safety Systems, Security Systems/Cameras, Fire Protection and Sprinkler Design Systems are performed in each of the above-listed design companies.

Our clients’ needs require that all disciplines work together as a productive unit. Accordingly, all such disciplines are located in our Chicago office.

A government client requires the expertise of infrastructure engineering. An industry client often needs specialists in process engineering. Both demand state-of-the-art controls, as well as architecture to fit the parts into the whole and construction managers to ensure the project follows the plan.

HOH ensures that each of these areas receive the focus and expertise they deserve. This capability in every aspect of professional services has forged HOH into the highly reliable resource that clients depend on for one-stop convenience, for economy and for the comfort of knowing that, whether a retrofit project or a Greenfield site installation, the completed project will satisfy all expectations.
